Flirting 2.0

Apparently, the days of awkward glances and stressed conversations are over. Oh hellllllz yes they are. To be perfectly honest, I never really thought I was good at flirting. Like, at all. And then slowly but surely I started upping my game. Like magic, the boys just came (ha, see my rhyme there?)

No, but really, I thought I was horrible. I was also (am?) a self-conscious as one could be so that could explain a lot. Truth be told, I guess I wasn’t really all that bad at all… my friends labeled me the “Make-out Slut” in high school, and well now I’m just the … 😉

Anyways, I digress. It turns out I’m a lot better at it than I thought. I’ve jumped the gun and decided to aim for more challenging tasks. I call it, Flirting 2.0. That’s right, folks — I’m talking flirting + twitter. The perfect synergy of all things social media and that flurry of butterflies in my stomach (OK, maybe no butterflies).

I’ll be honest. It’s difficult. You can’t read between the lines, and you certainly can’t pick up on the tone it’s written in. But isn’t that all flirting is anyway? An awkward guessing game? Or maybe I just really am as bad as I thought I was. Who knows. Until then, I guess I’ll just have fun trying. And on that note, you should as well. What’s your flirting style? Have you advanced to flirting 2.0? Or are you a die-hard fan of the good ‘ole days? Or… do take life by horns and march right up to the man of your dreams?

  1. I think I’m a pretty good text/IM flirter and, once I’ve cracked the outer shell, not bad in person either. If I’m up against someone of equal or greater skill, then it can be an exhilarating game of wit tennis. As much as I adore a good flirt, my conversion rate remains almost depressingly low.
